We all know, bourbon barrel aging takes PATIENCE.
Under federal standards after Bourbon is distilled it must be placed into charred new oak barrels for aging at no greater than 125 proof. To be considered straight bourbon the bourbon must be aged for at least two years.
Maker’s Mark ages their barrels between six and seven years for their distinct flavor. As we gaze at this up close hand painted original of a Maker’s Mark office in Loretto, KY, we must have patience. $400
